Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist, and even a commentator at NBC News in Washington D.C., is a television anchor. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing to be a part of New York City. In the year 1967, Mitchell became a reporter for KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia. Mitchell was a reporter at the CBS-affiliate WDVM-TV, (then WTOP), in Washington DC. A few years later, she was an general reporter at NBC News in Washington. In 1981 began covering the White House and became chief congressional correspondent in 1988. When she joined NBC News in 1992, Mitchell became the as the Chief White House Correspondent and in 1994 was appointed chief foreign affairs reporter in NBC News. Mitchell was on the panel of the TV show Meet the Press and also hosted the program. Mitchell was a panelist in the 1988 presidential debates between George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell has a husband, Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005 at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg Award in 2004 for her contribution to defend First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell reported on the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988, between the terms of Ronald Reagan's second term as president. Mitchell reported on a variety of interesting stories including the Iran-contra affair and budget tax reform. She traveled alongside Ronald Reagan in numerous visits to international summits, and also reported frequently.
